Tuesday– Bad day. Very bad day- 80 census administration form packets. 10 hours. Death on toast. Redeemed toward the end- worked for the Associated Press covering the Ohio primaries and then hanging with roommate (who was nice enough to let me vent about my lousy day).

Wednesday– Better day. AP in the morning, Census in the afternoon, Volleyball at night. Got promoted to supervisor for the AP– I don’t have time for it now, but by the time the next elections roll around, I won’t be working for the Census anymore… Played an amazing game of volleyball. Our team only won one out of three, but we played really well, so I can’t be sad. The team worked together and played well… I was so thrilled! Later, I learned some of the rules of bar pool– I’ll save that story for another day…

Today– A decent day working a Census training (and I got to catch up a little bit with a friend that was co-leading the training) followed by a notably bad plane flight (brought to me in part by a very intrusive and inappropriately critical flight attendant…). l I’m in Dallas now, and I just spent the evening catching up with my parents and grandparents!!! I like being in my house once in a while. I get play the real piano (it’s really incredible sounding compared to my electro-keyboard in NY), I end up sorting through random old stuff and remembering things I’d long since forgotten not to mention premium cable, tons of space, everything’s free, and there’s real carpet. Enough said. We ‘pre-gamed’ for big birthday weekend eating some “Zadie’s 80” M&Ms from an M&M ‘gumball’ machine that my Aunt had sent to our house for the occasion. My mom, of course, went on a scavenger hunt through the house to make sure that there were enough pennies for everyone to put in the machine… It’s good to be home. 🙂

Ridiculously exhausted and ready to crash for a supremely long time. Good night! Off to sleep in my bed!
